CAD Railway Services is a locomotive and railcar repair shop providing the transportation industry with services of repairs, refurbishing and upgrading of all categories of freight cars, tank cars, locomotives and passenger cars. We are also certified by the Association of American Railroads ( AAR ) for building of new cars.

Started in 1993, CAD Railway Services has rapidly gained all requisite AAR certification such as " Quality Assurance Program M-1003 " (Reconditioned Side Frames and Bolsters, Tank Car, Office Manual Rule 88 and heavy Freight Repairs). " Tank Car Facility Certification " and others. Our annual output figure, rapidly reached the 2000 car level, reflecting the industry's confidence in our product.

The services offered by our company cover: general car repairs, conversions, upgradings, as well as refurbishing. Our production methods are suited equally well to working on individual cars or on multi-car series covered by an entire program.

  • Tank car repairs including: head/shell replacement, tank straightening, stress relieving, hydrostatic tank testing

  • Nondestructive testing: radiographic (X-ray), ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, weld inspection (visual and remote visual), leak testing, coating/lining inspection

  • Tank re-qualification (HM-201)

  • Air brake testing

  • Pre and post lease inspections

  • Tank car cleaning for Freight car cleaning for hoppers, gondolas, and boxcars

  • Hazardous car cleaning, handling and repair

  • Blast and paint facilities for all exterior systems

  • Blast and paint facilities for all interior coatings and linings
